Campaign

As the backbone of our association your passion, dedication, and firsthand experience make you our best advocates. We believe the growth our association depends on our collective efforts. SCOAR’s Member-Get-A-Member Campaign is about sharing your membership experiences with others and encouraging them to join. We’ve put together this toolbox to give you tools to be successful. Every small effort counts, and your involvement can make a significant impact on our success. By working together, we can strengthen our association and create an even more enriching experience for all members.

How it works*

The Campaign ... in Three Simple Steps

Let Us Do the Work for You!

If you would like us to invite a prospective member to join on your behalf. Simply complete the online Referral Form, and we’ll send a personal invitation to join. If the company joins during the campaign period (September 1-October 31), you will receive credit for the referral.

Spread the Word

Share your membership story through emails, social media, or networking events and encourage them to be a part of SCOAR.
Step 1

Refer Prospective Members

Send prospective new members to SCOAR's Membership Application to apply for membership or complete the Referral Form, and we will take it from there.
Step 2

Earn Rewards

Have prospective members complete list you as their referral.
Step 3

*You must be a SCOAR member in good standing to participate. A member’s name must be listed as the referral; company names are not accepted. Rewards are calculated based on NEW memberships gained from September 1-October 31.

Owners

Organizations that purchase engineering/construction/ maintenance-related goods and services in order to conduct business and enterprise objectives (e.g., manufacturers, utilities, processors, etc.).

Associates

Organizations that sell or deliver engineering/ construction/
maintenance-related goods or services as an important element of their business enterprise objective.

Affiliates

Organizations that have an interest in the engineering/construction/ maintenance industry
and desire to affiliate with
the association.

*For all recruitment incentives, a “new member” is a company who qualifies as an Owner, Associate, or Affiliate. Subscriber members, while encouraged, do not qualify for these incentives.

Share Your Story

Tips for Recruiting New Members*

  • Share the benefits of SCOAR membership. 
  • Invite a prospective member to attend a SCOAR meeting.
  • Share how SCOAR membership has benefitted you and/or your company.
  • Forward links to the 2023 edition of THE VOICE Southeastern, SCOAR’s annual publication that includes a member listing to prospective members. 
  • Share how member companies can demonstrate their corporate commitment to safety by participating in SCOAR’s TOPS awards.

*For all recruitment incentives, a “new member” is a company who qualifies as as an Owner or Associate/Affiliate and has not had an active membership with SCOAR in 2022 or 2023. Subscriber members, while encouraged, do not qualify for these incentives.

Are you up for a friendly competition?

The Rewards*

Our goal is to recruit 25 new members by December 31, 2024, and we’re offering some exciting incentives to ensure our first formal membership recruitment drive is a success.

Recruit 1
New Member

to join during the campaign and be entered into a drawing to win $100.

Recruit 2
New Members

to join during the campaign and be entered into a drawing to win $200.

Recruit 3
New Members

to join during the campaign and be entered into a drawing to win $300.

Recruit the Most
New Members

to join during the campaign and receive the Ambassador Award and $500.

*Only member companies are eligible to participate in the Member-Get-A-Member Campaign. To be eligible for rewards, prospective members must submit a membership application during the campaign period (through December 31, 2003). Be sure to remind the representative to enter your name in the Referred to SCOAR By field on the online Membership Application or Referral Form.

To qualify for the grand prize, you must recruit a minimum of three new members during the campaign period. In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held to select the winner of the cash prize.

Winners will be announced at the end of the campaign and recognized at the Winter Meeting.

Yes, if you complete and submit the Member-Get-A-Member Referral Form or send us an email at staff@scoar.org and the company joins before the campaign ends, you will get credit for the referral.
