The SCOAR Workforce Development Program Award recognizes exemplary and innovative training, education, or other career development initiatives, that encourage individuals to pursue careers in the construction industry and/or elevate the construction skills of current craft professionals.
Award recipients receive a $1,000 training grant, are recognized at SCOAR’s Winter Meeting, and will be featured in The Voice Southeastern magazine, SCOAR’s annual publication.
Two award opportunities are available as part of the Building Careers Award. These are non-profit and for-profit entities.
SCOAR’s 2025 Workforce Development Program of the Year nomination cycle is October 1-December 1. The program includes nonprofit and for-profit awards.
The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on December 1.
The Award Guidelines provide an overview of the program, the nomination process, eligibility requirements, important dates, selection process, presentation, and hints for success.
a. Nonprofit: industry organizations, building trades unions, public/private partnerships, and other non-profit organizations.
b. For Profits: Owners, Contractors, suppliers, vendors, or combination
Nominations submitted will be reviewed and evaluated by an expert panel from SCOAR’s Workforce Development Committee, according to the criteria detailed in the WFD Program Award Rubric. Submitted programs will be judged on
