Craft Professional of the Year Award
SCOAR’s Craft Professional of the Year Award recognizes a construction craft professional who excels in his or her field while demonstrating a commitment to safety, performance and productivity, leadership, and training/education.
Award recipients receive a $1,000 cash award and DEWALT tool package valued at $500 and are recognized at SCOAR’s Spring Meeting, and will be featured in The Voice Southeastern magazine, SCOAR’s annual publication.

APPLICATION CYCLE
SCOAR’s 2026 Craft Professional of the Year application cycle is February 2-April 10.
Deadline to Submit is April 10
PROGRAM
Eligibility
- Nominations must be submitted by a representative of a SCOAR member company in good standing. Self nominations are not permitted.
- Nominations are open to craft positions, including construction foremen. Each nomination should be based on the role that the nominee was filling at the time the nomination is submitted. Office sand management personnel—including but not limited to—project managers, engineers, sales representatives, estimators, and other non-field positions are not eligible for this award.
- Nominees must be working on a project within SCOAR’s 12-state footprint at the time the nomination is submitted.
- All required items and supporting documentation must be submitted by the application deadline.
- The application and supporting documentation must be submitted electronically by midnight on April 10, 2026, to be considered.
AWARD
Award Selection Process and Presentation
Applications are reviewed by a panel of industry professionals selected from SCOAR’s Workforce Development Committee, according to the criteria detailed in the Craft Professional of the Year rubric. Eligible nominees will be judged on the following:
- Craft skills
- Job site performance
- Problem solving skills
- Safety performance
- Leadership
- Community/industry service
- Merit
